How smart glass works

Liquid crystal particles are suspended between two films of Smart Glass (which you can alter with your choice of density and tone).  These particles are randomly organized, which creates an opaque appearance and makes it difficult to impossible to see through. When an electric AC current is switched on via wall switch, remote or timer, the liquid crystals organize themselves, allowing light and vision through.
