The Smart Glass light factor

The product basically consists of two layers of glass with a suspension of liquid crystals between them. These liquid crystals are randomly scattered, obscuring both vision and light. When an electrical ac current is switched on and runs through the two layers of glass, the liquid crystals align with the electrical current, making it easy for light and vision to pass through.

At 75%, Smart Glass lets through as much light as frosted glass, but all of the clarity and visibility of non-frosted glass. However, where both frosted and clear float glass let 55% of UV-rays through, Smart Glass blocks an astounding 95.5+% of the harmful UV-rays accompanying natural light.

Apart from nullifying the use of artificial light during the day, the Smart Glass light factor also means that, as natural sunlight gets in, there is no need for air-conditioning systems during either summer of winter!
