What are Smart Windows then?

Smart Windows are two films of glass, containing between them liquid crystals, which are organized at random.  When an electric AC current is switched on and runs through them, the suspended particles are organized, which lets light trough and opens the Smart Windows to the outside world.  When no power runs through the particles, and they are organized at random, the Smart Window closes to the outside world.

Apart from that, the Smart Window also blocks 99.5 % of harmful UV rays, withstands extreme temperatures between – 20 and 70 degrees Celsius, has been tested for over a million cycles and can block up to 44 Decibels of sound.  It is also water resistant and still lets in 67% light in the off mode, even when there is only 4% visibility.  Smart Windows also controls the temperatures and reduce green-house emissions.
