Providing instant privacy at the flick of a switch, smart glass was key to efficient use of space when this construction recruitment agency decided to create a new compact meeting room within its office complex.

The resulting room boasts an intimate yet welcoming atmosphere, thanks to the effective use of natural light, which floods in from the adjacent foyer. Despite compact dimensions, this bright ambience ensures a positive, professional feel for clients of all kinds.

Work on the project, which was completed in 2022, made great use of Privacy Smart Glass from Smartglass International. This innovative product turns from transparent to opaque in less than 0.1 seconds due to its construction using a Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) film.

Thanks to this technology, the user was able to dispense with cumbersome curtains and blinds to create an aesthetically pleasing finish, complete with a switchable glass door. All it takes is an electrical current to activate the PDLC film in both the pane and door, ensuring this installation is both fully functional and easy to use.
