Project Story

We have recently completed an exciting Privacy Smartglass project for one of the largest private health groups in the US, Northwell Health. The project was located at their North Shore University facility in Manhasset, New York State.

Northwell Health’s vision for the refurbishments of the hospital included renovating the ICU ward to the highest possible specification.

Due to the nature of the ward, and the hospital’s duty of care to its patients, it had to exceed hygiene standards and ensure staff productivity could be maximised by using the latest technology.

Smartglass International was initially approached by Batska Consulting Group, who were acting on behalf of Northwell Health, to provide technical assistance and pricing of suppliers.

Our Privacy Smart Glass product was chosen for the project due to its high hygiene standards, ease of cleaning and maintenance, the increased levels of patient dignity it offers and for the competitive pricing we offer.

The project was on a very tight schedule to minimise downtime and reopen the ward for its patients. We manufactured 100 smart glass panels for the ward in total, on-time and within their cost budget. The glass was supplied to and installed by Reidy Construction Group, a New York-based general contractor specialising in health care constructions.

We are very excited to be part of this incredible renovation, which will make it a state-of-the-art hospital with its design, technology and patient comfort.
